Spry Gum

A few months ago I made a decision to quit smoking (again). I have been attempting to quit for quite some time now, and I usually make it a few months and then for some unimaginable reason, start up again. During the process of trying to find an alternative for my habit, I found Spry gum. I was ecstatic because this gum had NO artificial sweeteners in it! I have stayed away from gum in the past because most gum contains these unhealthy ingredients. So after some digging around the internet, I found that Spry gum contains xylitol. I went to my local health food store and bought cinnamon and green tea flavors. I have actually been rather impressed with both flavors. They are unfortunately chewier than I would like, and the flavor does not last as long as one would hope. This gum also runs a little pricier than regular gum. This being said, I would still recommend giving this gum a try if you are looking to satisfy a sweet craving or even quit smoking. If you do not have a health food store around your home, you can order spry products on Amazon.com

Update on Nizoral Acne/Rosacea Treatment

Hey guys! I just wanted to post an update on how my skin has been doing since I started using Nizoral. I have been using it twice daily (leaving it on for 3 minutes in the shower) for almost a week now and I have already seen significant results. My skin has cleared dramatically, and I even think the redness on my face has reduced slightly. I am amazed so far with it! I would totally recommend trying it! I have been using a 1% formula, but some formulas are 2% Nizoral. If you get a 2% formula, I would recommend trying it once a day so you can see how your skin reacts to it. Good luck everyone, and hope this helps you as much as it has been helping me! I will keep you posted.

Gluten-Free Spaghetti

Spaghetti/pasta is one thing that many people say they could never live without. There are a variety of options at the health food store, and sometimes even at local grocery stores, for pasta alternatives. Sometimes these taste great, and sometimes they taste like cardboard! I recently came across an ingenious and unique way of making spaghetti and thought I would share it with you. It involves using spaghetti squash! This cool vegetable not only tastes good, but also looks like spaghetti noodles, and has a similar consistency as well. Put some tomato or meat sauce on top of it and you've got yourself a great tasting dinner! It's a pretty simple idea, but one I don't think many people have considered. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

Nizoral For Acne?

I have recently been searching for more acne treatments in hopes of getting my skin under control. My diet, exercise, skin care and vitamin regimes have helped my skin improve, but I still struggle with mild-moderate acne. While I was searching for further acne treatment, I stumbled across the shampoo Nizoral. Nizoral is an antifungal used in dandruff shampoo which supposedly reduces androgen production. Androgen production can be a huge factor of acne in many people. I have decided to order some Nizoral shampoo to test out the theory (it is not easily bought in stores because of a shortage in the US). I will probably get it in the mail in a couple days, and will report back periodically with my findings. On a side note, another more natural androgen blocker is green tea. Those of you that like the natural methods might be more interested in this. Green tea can be drank or applied to the skin. I hope all is well, and I will update you later!

Triggers

Unlike many addictions, those with eating disorders cannot simply avoid the things that trigger them into a relapse. Many times it seems as though some of the most simple things can trigger a host of negative feelings. Still, should someone attempt to stay away from these things? I think it depends on the individual. If the trigger is easily avoidable, then yes, one should probably attempt to avoid it for the most part. This would be the easiest solution, until further intervention could be used. For those that see triggers in individuals walking down the street, in nostalgic experiences, and in almost every aspect of life, something different should be considered. If you attempt to alter your entire life to avoid triggers, then the eating disorder is still in control and it is still causing anguish in your life. I think that one of the best ways to deal with this problem is to consult a professional, and address these issues head on. Avoiding them will not make them go away, and the only way to find a way to conquer the illness is to fight back with everything out in the open. Eating disorders are such a secretive disease that usually the only way to get healthy is to start sharing some of the most protected secrets of the illness.

Feeling Blue

I believe that everyone looks in the mirror and has their good days and their bad days. Some days people say, "wow, I look great!", while other days people say, "wow, I look horrible!". This doesn't bother the majority of the people, because they realize it's a fact of life. To others, such as myself, it drives us crazy. Today has been one of those days. The days where I wake up, feel disgusting and look disgusting. Whether or not others see it, I see it clearly. Sometimes I wonder if it's all in my head, and because of my mood. The way I feel tends to directly coincide with how I think I look. Of course there are times when I feel good and think I look bad, and visa versa, but for the most part they go hand in hand. This is quite frustrating, because it feels like everything is going wrong all at once, but in actuality, one thing went wrong and it snowballed into a bundle of issues. I am currently working on how to handle this, and have not yet come to an adequate solution. One thing that I believe helps is nature. I feel swept away with its vastness, and I tend to think about myself less. I believe nature removes a big part of the problem, my ability to look at myself. Perhaps this is the same for you. Next time you are having one of these days, try and separate yourself from mirrors, and go out into nature with a loved one or even by yourself. Hopefully this will take your mind off the way you feel, and leave you with a sense of peace and tranquility.
